Yes could it be said that travelling is not only the discovery of another address in this wide world? You alone can answer that. For me it certainly is just that. You see my partner gave me a KINDLE so that I would stop buying books overseas and filling my suitcase to overflowing or should I say so heavy so that an extra charge would be asked. But...but...now he is reaping the benefits!!
Even if I am trying to lose weight I am finding these recipes irresistible. Yes I've had the Italian book for years now and cooking in the Mediterranean style has become second nature. But the others...well they are so full of tempting dishes that I just can't lose any weight. Fancy cooking pears not only in red wine but also in cream? Yes Picasso has a lot to answer for! And then there are the brilliant diagrams (pencil sketches in black and white) and explanations or descriptions of the Italian cooking in the history of Venice. A book I cannot leave to catch dust on my shelf. A much smaller book reminds me daily of our trip to the Cote D'Azure and this size is reminiscent of all the little French grandmothers to me... short and round...do I really want to end up like that?
The Australian Food of Wine and Art now that has done some travelling in reverse! This I have given to friends in Africa and Europe simply to brag! We may be isolated but we are not exactly living in the dark or just depending on our barbie. I offered it to my visiting daughter from the USA but no, it would make all American cooking look and taste too bland so.....
So ... in the next few BLOG entries I intend to write about food! Any interest? I hope so! Of course there are many more books to show you. Help! I think I have discovered another aspect to my character!!I'm not obsessed with my cook book collection am I? Or am I?
