Love and Marriage!

Is it time to comment? Who is interested? We all are. The world is ours. We are about to be further split in our beliefs. Bad enough that we have to realise everyday that the Western way of life is not available to all. We have always known that the poor exist but that was OK as long as they kept out of sight and were happy to receive our help in drabs and drabs. But now we have to face a Europe filled with people from Africa...an Asia filled with people escaping torment for whatever reason...and an Australia filling us with fear according to our Liberal Government.
So...let's think of LOVE! We can start with two people! This has been our cornerstone of our existence...a man and a woman in marriage, creating a family of children...members of the next generation.

So why is marriage between same sex people so important to them? Surely LOVE is a reward for good behaviour! So where does marriage come into it? Oh we want the world to recognise our love! You do? Yes! And we want to be able to leave property and wealth to our nearest and dearest! You do? So why is marriage necessary? Isn't the LAW as expressed through the actions of a lawyer enough?
Do I have to marry my dog to let the world know that we have love between us? And that we belong to each other? This consideration makes me think of a headline in an African paper where the owner of a donkey wanted to marry his donkey and his defense in court was But we are in Love, your Honour!

On the other hand is this what we can expect from unions of the same sex? If it is, it is already happening...some of it illegal...the owners of the child have groomed it to accept sexual attention by other males...money being passed as payment. Do you feel sick at the idea? I do.
But don't get me wrong. This is not everyone's idea of a happy family. And I'm not saying that same sex couples can not bring up a child successfully but...one thought keeps nagging me. Is a child's rights (not to have a mother and a father) being ignored in some of these decisions? I was a single parent for 14 years and spent many years hoping to meet a male worthy of bringing up my daughter...her father had died when she was two years old.
